“When you fall in love with a city, it is forever.” -Toni Morrison
One of my favorite things to do is visit the bookstore on the search for a new travel book to add to my ever growing collection. I was lucky to be serendipitously gifted Diane Ratican’s second edition of her book, “why LA, porquoi Paris? a few weeks ago. It’s a book I would have picked up in an instant. A love letter, travel guide, and art book all in one, Diane pays homage to both LA and Paris, capturing the heart and spirit of each city through her own personal stories. Each page is a delight, filled with whimsical, colorful illustrations and quotes that embrace the “joie de vivre.” From The Beverly Hills Hotel to El Cholo to the Metro Station, Diane’s highlighted all the wonderful places that I’ve grown to love and cherish throughout the years as a resident in LA. I’ve grown up with a deep love for both LA and Paris, and more so now than ever, I’m inspired to visit Paris again with one agenda only – to let myself get lost in the rich history of the city. As a travel and fashion enthusiast, an LA resident, fellow entrepreneur, Diane’s labor of love to LA and Paris is appreciated and enjoyed.
